Linde offers a oxygen based solution to extend the methane recovery window by years when the methane concentration in the recovered gas falls below 21%. In this range useally gas turbines can not work anymore:
Enrichment with pure oxygen can further lower the minimum concentration of methane required in the fuel gas in order for the turbines to work. Supplementing the oxygen content in ambient air, pure oxygen can be fed into the fuel gas to enrich it directly.
This avoids the “ballast” problem associated with the inert gases also contained in air.
Depending on the site and the size of the deposit, this enrichment solution can extend the mine gas recovery window by years – using the gas turbines and technical infrastructure already in place. |
