URS represents clients in GHG emissions trading markets, providing turn-key reduction project monetization support. We developed emission factors and estimation methodologies for CH4 from oil and gas operations, serving as the technical foundation for the EPA Natural Gas STAR program. We also perform landfill gas generation and other renewable energy projects design and engineering project management. We also created the oil and gas industry GHG protocol for API, with upcoming adoption by the WRI/WBCSD protocol initiative. As part of that program, URS is developing GHG emission reduction project templates for key energy industry projects (e.g., cogeneration, combustion optimization, venting/flaring, LDAR), including calculations and guidance on boundaries, baselines, and indirect emissions. URS also develops GHG emission inventory protocols for electric utility companies (including power generation and gas distribution assets), as well as EMIS implementation support. |
