2Celsius is currently running a multi-year campaign on fugitive emissions from methane in the oil and gas sector. Our organization has been involved in the investigation of OGI emissions in Romania, has produced papers looking at the geopolitics of gas and at proposing a pathway to reduce fugitive emissions toward 2030, has produced information materials for stakeholders and the public and has successfully engaged with the media to draw attention on methane emissions. 2Celsius is also coordinating a coalition of NGOs at national level working on methane emission from different angles and is participating in coordination meetings with a European network of NGOs working on methane. We are currently engaging with multiple stakeholders at national and EU level on the issue, including high-level governmental authorities, MPs, the presidential administration, MEPs, the European Commission, Romanian oil and gas companies, research institutes, experts, think tanks and academia. |
