The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will host the first webinar of the "Too Good to Waste" initiative on 7 November 2024. The initiative aims to support IDB borrower countries in accelerating the implementation of solid waste management projects to mitigate methane emissions. The webinar objectives are to:
- Disseminate the advances and challenges in quantifying and mitigating methane emissions in the solid waste sector.
- Present findings on emissions based on satellite information and an analysis of regulations regarding biogas capture in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Announce the winning proposals from the Call for Proposals of Too Good to Waste.
Interpretation will be available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
