Methane to Markets Landfill Gas to Energy Basics for Environmental Regulatory Officials in the State of Minas Gerais

Event Details: Over 80 participants from the State of Minas Gerais’ Environmental Regulatory Agency (FEAM) took part in an EPA and FEAM sponsored LFGE training. This one and a half day activity covered LFG modeling, energy recovery technologies, gas collection and control systems, regulatory issues, as well as project assessment and development. This internal FEAM training is designed to set the State on a path to expanded LFGE project development, and fits within their efforts to site regional landfills across the State. As part of this workshop EPA and FEAM finalized an agreement focused on a sustained capacity building program designed to help FEAM achieve its long-term LFGE project implementation goals.
