Eastern Power Limited is a leader (since 1990) in landfill gas (LFG) recovery and its conversion to electrical power. It owns and operates two of the largest LFG power projects in North America where it collects/purchases LFG from City of Toronto landfills. These projects have provided large carbon emission reductions attributable to the conversion of the collected LFG, by combustion and its related power production, as validated by Environment Canada and independently verified by third parties. Eastern Power also has patented technology for improving methane biogas recovery from organic waste streams when these are processed by anaerobic digestion. |
