Type of Organization: Private Sector
Description of Services:

Initial Global Green Power biomass to energy (electricity), projects are being developed within the Philippines, China and Vietnam. Phase One of GGP’s operations will develop four biomass fired renewable energy power plants within the Philippines generating 65 Mega Watts of “base load” electricity. The Philippines is an agriculture-based country with abundant biomass wastes that offer tremendous opportunities to use biomass as an energy fuel. As a policy GGP does not use food crop as a fuel supply e.g. corn, rape seed, wheat or other food crops that may be used for human consumption. GGP utilizes only agricultural wastes or residue from food processing that in many cases causes severe disposal problems or methane generation due to degradation in the field after harvest. The first GGP 15MWe biomass power project will be built on the main Island of Luzon at Bulacan, some sixty kilometers distance from Manila, the Capital City of the Philippines.
