The College of Engineering of the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina (Universidad Nacional) developed an LFG recovery project in the city of Olavarria. This was the first LFG project in the country financed through carbon credits to be sold through the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol. The Universidad Nacional worked together with the World Bank (WB) in many aspects of this project. Furthermore, the Community Development Carbon Fund, a WB carbon fund, was to purchase the carbon credits for 10 years. |
