The GMI Biogas Subcommittee hosted a virtual meeting on Wednesday, 15 December 2021 at 07:00 EST (UTC-5). The meeting featured a discussion of GMI’s role in supporting global efforts to mitigate methane, including the <a href="https://www.globalmethanepledge.org/">Global Methane Pledge</a>, and a conversation with international partners and collaborators to explore the role they will play in helping to achieve these goals. Asked to establish the business side of ADBA in 2009, she saw the potential of an industry that can deliver huge potential and value to the UK. Given the even bigger global potential, which must be achieved if the Paris Climate Change targets and UN Sustainable Development Goals are to be met, Charlotte played a pivotal role in establishing the World Biogas Association in 2016 to promote and increase the rate of uptake of biogas globally. Charlotte is also on the board of Green Gas Trading Ltd, which runs the Biomethane Certification Scheme.</td> </tr> <tr><td width="150"><img src="/images/headshots/catalina.jpg" alt="headshot of Catalina Etcheverry" style="width:150px;margin:5px;" class="eventHeadshotEE"> </td><td><b>Catalina Etcheverry</b><br><i>Agriculture & Bricks Initiative Coordinator</i><br>Climate and Clean Air Coalition<br><u><br>Biography:</u> Catalina Etcheverry works with the CCAC Secretariat and is responsible for ensuring the good functioning of the broader Coalition Partnership, by contributing to the implementation of the CCAC’s new 2030 strategy, including work on Agriculture and Brick Production Sectors. Catalina also focuses on enhancing country engagement and support, undertaking country level analysis and facilitation of best practices; project design, direct support to countries and responding to requests from countries or partners. In addition, she provides support to governance.</td> </tr> <tr><td width="150"><img src="/images/headshots/katherine.jpg" alt="headshot of Katie Ross" style="width:150px;margin:5px;" class="eventHeadshotEE"> </td><td><b>Katie Ross</b><br><i>Senior Associate</i><br>World Resources Institute<br><u><br>Biography:</u> Katie Ross is a Senior Associate with WRI’s Climate Program. She supports countries in developing mid-century decarbonization strategies and enhancing their mitigation commitments under the Paris Agreement. Katie also leads WRI’s engagement with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition. Prior to joining WRI, Katie was a Principal Advisor at Promethium Carbon, a South African-based climate change consulting firm. While at Promethium Carbon, she advised international organizations on greenhouse gas reporting and climate strategy development, as well as implementing projects under the Clean Development Mechanism. Katie has also worked with governments in southern Africa on developing their commitments under the Paris Agreement and reporting to the UNFCCC. Katie holds an MPhil in Energy and Development Studies from the University of Cape Town, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.<br></td> </tr> <tr><td width="150"><img src="/images/headshots/chris.jpg" alt="headshot of Chris Voell" style="width:150px;margin:5px;" class="eventHeadshotEE"> </td><td><b>Chris Voell</b><br><i>Head - Waste, Recycling & Biogas Advisory</i><br>Danish Trade Council, North America<br><u><br>Biography:</u> Chris has been a champion for renewable energy, improved waste management and methane capture for more than 30 years, and currently works to bring Danish innovation to help grow the North American biogas market. He has worked for private, non-profit and government organizations to advance organic waste and biogas project development in the agriculture, waste and wastewater sectors both domestically and internationally. Previously Chris headed the USEPA AgSTAR program and acted as Co-Chair of the Global Methane Initiative Biogas Subcommittee and US representative to the Climate & Clean Air Coalition Agricultural Committee. Over his career, he also worked for the Solid Waste Association of North America, SCS Engineers, Cornerstone Environmental, BioCNG, and Aria Energy. Chris served on the Board of Directors of the American Biogas Council, and has degrees in Natural Resources Management and Forestry.<br></td> </tr> <tr><td width="150"><img src="/images/headshots/suneel.jpg" alt="headshot of Suneel Pandey" style="width:150px;margin:5px;" class="eventHeadshotEE"> </td><td><b>Dr. Suneel Pandey</b><br><i>Director of the Environment & Waste Management Division</i><br>The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)<br><u><br>Biography:</u> Dr. Suneel Pandey is the Director of the Environment & Waste Management Division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi, India. He is also an Adjunct Faculty and Head at the Centre for Regulatory & Policy Research, TERI University. He has more than thirty years of consulting and research experience in municipal, industrial and hospital waste management; waste-to-energy issues; impact assessments; air, water, and soil quality monitoring; site assessments; performance evaluation of wastewater treatment plants; and institutional strengthening and capacity building. Dr. Pandey serves on multiple expert committees convened by the Government of India including the Supreme Court''''s Expert Committee of Solid Waste Management for Delhi and the Standard Setting Committee on Waste convened by the Bureau of Indian Standards. Prior to joining TERI, Dr. Pandey worked for ERM India, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute in Nagpur. She completed her undergraduate and master''''s studies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Department of Chemistry, majoring in environmental protection. She is currently studying for a doctorate at her home faculty. She started her working career in 2009 in the non-governmental sector as a researcher and continued work in the Public Utility Company for Waste Management in Novi Sad in the period 2011-2016. From 2016-2020, she is a member of the city council of Novi Sad in charge of environmental protection and urbanism. She is currently a member of the city council in charge of environmental protection, sustainable development, and energy efficiency. She speaks English and Spanish.</td> </tr> </tbody> </table></div></div>
